Flying your geek flag without going full-on cosplay is a challenge all of us face – and as always Bibisama is here to help with their Otaku-inspired streetwear. And one of their heavy hitters is their Zodiac bomber line – high quality jackets that can integrate into any wardrobe for most of the year in temperate weather.
They’ve made their way through most of the Chinese zodiac so far – you may have seen us around conventions last year with the icy cool Year of the Dog – but since PAX West the boss has been rocking the stone grey Year of the Rabbit.
Sparing no detail, Bibisama again brings us a gorgeous and complex 12-color embroidered design weaving grey, pink, blue, and complimentary shades to its water-resistant cotton exterior, accented at the neck and cuffs with white and grey rings. It’s got a standard fit that’s not too baggy or skinny, and while it’s not constructed with flex we still find it super comfortable without feeling tightness or tugging at the armpits or tension on the shoulders.
In addition to the standard 2 waist pockets, the Year of the Rabbit features an inside pocket on the left that can comfortably fit your phone or wallet, and the left sleeve features a small zippered pocket and pen-shaped sleeves (and the lining is pretty dope as well). These are super convenient for pens, a stylus, or storing your shades by one of the sticks. Personally I use it for my Samsung S Pen / S Pen pro for my Fold4 and tablet.
(So thanks Bibisama for picking up the ball Samsung dropped for not garaging pens in their Fold devices)
The aggressively designed rabbit itself gives us anime-style Wonderland vibes, outfitting you perfectly for a night out with friends or to sit and dine with the Mad Hatter and Queen of Hearts.
The Year of the Rabbit jacket is available at Bibisama for $119.99 – and if the Rabbit isn’t your cup of tea, also available are years of the Dog, Ox, Tiger, Rat, Monkey, and Pig. Whatever your color and style preference, Bibisama has you covered.
