Good afternoon and happy weekend kids!

PAX East 2020 is quickly approaching on our horizon – Technical Fowl will be in Boston to see and report on what’s new in the world of gaming. For those of you that are still on the fence about attending, I would nudge you to the “yes” side and would recommend you start moving on getting your passes. At the time of this writing, some four-day passes are still available ($225) and low quantities remain for single day Thursday and Sunday passes ($60). Single day passes are completely sold out for Friday and Saturday.

We’ve been to all of the shows and PAX East is always one of our favorites. It’s hands down the premier east coast gaming convention from e-sports to tabletop and everything in between.

Some of the biggest publishers in AAA gaming will take over the show floor, including Nintendo, Sony, Square Enix, Private Division, and more. Larian Studios, PLATINUMGames, and The Behemoth will be among the developers delighting attendees with incredible exhibitions adding to a thrilling PAX East 2020 experience.

Fans of hidden gems can discover new rising stars among the AAA and indie publishers and developers on the show floor including Devolver Digital, Finji, and tinyBuild, among others. PAX Rising will feature the jaw-dropping talent of up and coming teams, while the PAX East Indie Showcase will honor its six winners by introducing attendees to beloved new experiences. Meanwhile, the Indie Megabooth returns with dozens of indie titles in one spot.

PAX continues to fill-out a jam-packed schedule, with John Baez, co-founder of The Behemoth (Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid Invasion) delivering the PAX East Storytime keynote on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 10:30 am ET in the Main Theater. Team Coco will present SuperBoss, featuring Aaron Bleyaert of Clueless Gamer fame, guest-starring lucky audience members and their celebrity coaches in a ridiculous gaming competition.

Whatever types of games you’re interested in, Boston is the place to be February 26th through March 1st. We’ll be be getting updates from the big titles we’re anticipating like Final Fantasy VII Remake as well as making sure we get to take a trip through the always surprising Indie Megabooth, where we always find some delightful surprises.

In addition to what’s on the floor, make sure you take some time out to check out some panels upstairs. The range of topics is huge and the list will definitely have something to garner your interest, whether it’e education, business, or let’s face it, ridiculousness. And if you want to feed your competitive side? Join one of the many tournaments that will be going on during the span of the show.

So come for the games, come for the panels – hell just come to say hi! It’s going to be a great time in Boston.

About PAX

PAX, or Penny Arcade Expo, is a festival for gamers to celebrate gaming culture. First held in Seattle in 2004, PAX has nearly doubled in size each successive year, with PAX Prime 2014 selling out of tickets in a matter of minutes. Connecting the world’s leading game publishers with their most avid and influential fans, PAX expanded with a second show in Boston in 2010, and a third in San Antonio in 2015, making it the three largest gaming shows in North America. The first international PAX was held in Melbourne, Australia in 2013. In 2017, Penny Arcade established PAX Unplugged, its first tabletop focused show, held in Philadelphia.

About Penny Arcade

Penny Arcade has been the world’s most popular webcomic for over 20 years, with over 3.5 million readers. Started in 1998 in the living room of Mike Krahulik & Jerry Holkins, it has grown into a media empire encompassing multiple beloved properties such as Lookouts, Automata, and beloved D&D live-play series Acquisitions Incorporated. Penny Arcade was responsible for the creation of Child’s Play, a gaming charity that has raised over $45 million dollars for children across the world. They are also the founders of PAX, the number one consumer gaming festival in North America, with hundreds of thousands of loyal visitors every year.
