PAX East is the premier east coast gaming convention, and arguably the best in the country (yeah, I’m including PAX West and E3 in that list). The folks at Penny Arcade have packed so much additional content year over year that last year they expanded the show schedule from 3 days to 4. It seemed to work for them, since PAX East 2019 will also be subscribing to the four-day format. As announced earlier this month, PAX East 2019 will take place March 28-31 in Boston.
Day passes are up for sale on their official website here, unsurprisingly with Saturday day passes already sold out. Quantities for Thursday, Friday and Sunday are still available, and if you plan on going, you should be snatching them up as quickly as possible. This show sells out every year, and with good reason. With the entire BCEC filled everything a gamer’s heart could desire – gaming demos from indie studios to triple A developers, bring-your-own-computer LAN parties, shops, merch, and excellent panels for gamers and anyone that’s part of the gaming industry, there’s something for everyone.
For the collectors, exclusive PAX East 2019 merchandise is also available and will ship prior to the show. A Level Up PAX East Dice Stand + Dice is limited to 1000 units, and costs $75. The PAX East 2019 Office Set is $55 and includes a pen cup, stapler, tape dispenser, tray, as well as three pens with black ink. A PAX East 2019 Zipper Bag, perfect for holding pens, pencils and pins, can be purchased for $20.
This year also marks the tenth anniversary of PAX East, which began as an expansion of their Seattle-based PAX convention. Since then they have come an intensely long way. “When we held the first East, we hoped the show would one day be big enough to need the BCEC,” said Jerry Holkins, co-founder, Penny Arcade. “A decade later, the BCEC is like a second home for us. Grab tickets while you can.”
